I flirt all the time but normally only with women I know because I have met a few that think it's disrespectful.  My wife has always been fine with it because she knows at the end of the day I'm coming home to her. Really does just revolve around mutual trust.

I agree, trust is key here. I know some people have been hurt repeatedly, as with a guy I'm currently dating so I'm backing off on my flirtatious nature so he can see there's no reason to not trust me. I find it a bit more difficult than I thought to tone down that part of my personality, however, I don't want to be the reason his jealousy is triggered. Trust is definitely learned and then earned throughout a relationship.
