-Forgive me while I ramble a bit, sometimes I get emotional when I write.-
It has been five days since my last entry. I feel that is enough of a buffer between what I said, and what I would like to say now.
The word in my previous entry is not so much a word as it is an idea. It is, however, not just any idea. It is perhaps the most dangerous idea that has been given form in what is perhaps the most dangerous word ever to be written or spoken. Since the beginning of time leaders, both Great and Small, Mighty and Weak, Noble and Nefarious have used this word, and this idea to bring about change. Sometimes this change is large, sometimes it is small, but always it is significant.
So I have taken the caution to separate this word, and the idea it embodies from what I have to say. Perhaps it can be better explained as such.
In the "Star Wars" universe, a commonly known fantasy world there is a race of warriors, Mandalorians. The Mandalorians have a language all their own, but for a race of warriors a single, significant word is missing. The Mandalorians have no word for 'hero', they only have words to describe not being one.
This is how humanity comprises the idea, and word of which I write now. We have no word for what it means to manifest this idea, we have only words to describe what it means not to be.
But that is not true is it? We have words to describe it. We have millions of them, billions perhaps. This word, this idea is given true form in every language spoken on this earth. A persons name is the outward, and inward measure of his embodying of this idea.
More men and women that could ever be counted have given the last full measure of devotion to preserve that idea. It is perhaps something that is not fully appreciated until you are on the brink of losing it. It has been said that somethings can not be seen from the inside, and I believe that this more than all other things in life represents that thought.
For me, this means realizing that under circumstances that I can not now comprehend that I too dream that I will be able to give that same measure of devotion.
I now ask myself if I feel any different than when i started this line of thinking. The only answer I can give is yes, and no. I feel no more devoted to my faith or my causes than I was before. However, I feel that I understand my motives, and the driving force behind my convictions better.
