My name is Alex and I've been a member of Suicide Girls for quite sometime. This is my first blog so I decided to post about something that was unique in the sense of unusual discussions. I have an extreme interest in Archaeology, plus all fields of Anthropology as well, and this is my last year as an undergraduate studying History as a major and Anthropology as a minor. At any rate, this current fall semester has allowed me to take a field archaeology course in which we [students] collectively manage a real archaeology site! We're excavating just outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado and it has been one of the most glorious experiences of my life thus far. I have attached photos from the site, some of which are my finds that consist of either fragments or flakes from rhyolite and quartzite. These fragments were chipped off of a larger piece of rock by humans roughly a thousand years ago during the process of making tools.
With that being said, I was wondering if any of you out there (especially those Suicide Girls) have an interest in Archaeology as well, and / or can share any experiences with actual digs! I'm hoping to hear about some digs in states other than my own, therefore, I can be well versed in a wide variety of digs before I graduate and do this groovy shit for a living. Please feel free to add photos and share stories. Right on.
