After work today, I went to Borders and picked up three new books that I am very excited to read (or, re-read). They are, in no particular order:

The Savage Detectives by Roberto Bolano

New Universal (volume 1): Everything Went White by Warren Ellis

and

Where The Wild Things Are by, and you should know this, Maurice Sendak

I've been wanting to read The Savage...

Not quite, but it was on my mind.

I liked your review a lot. Good length, good depth, good readability. It reminded me how desperately I wish netflix allowed you to give half-star ratings. That would make me all kinds of happy.

Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, Rush Hour 2, X-Men: The Last Stand, and Red Dragon) is set to direct the upcoming comic book adaptation titled Youngblood, from the comic series originally "created" by Rob Liefeld. Never heard of Youngblood? Don't remember it well (or fondly)? Think it sounds familiar but, saw it on the comic shelves 10 years ago, but never bought it? Or, bought it...

well, if I can't be my own friend, where would I be? You should try it!

Some of my favorites: Girl Genius, Questionable Content, Gunnerkrigg, Ctrl+Alt+Del, Penny Arcade. What about you? What's yours?

Going through old Myspace blogs to find movie reviews that I've written, and I stumbled across this little gem. Enjoy (go ahead and fast forward to about the 1 minute mark):

I feel like I should post a blog. I've been wanting to for a while, and I've been saving web pages and links for the past two weeks in the hopes of buckling down and writing an epic blog. Something I used to do on Myspace all the time. But when I went back through and looked at all that junk, I either forgot what...

If I'm really being honest... I haven't looked yet. I know once I start everything about my site will start to overwhelm and depress me. Overhaul soon.

Two new episodes of Workland Tales posted this week. Go check 'em out.

And don't forget to take a gander over at Grim and the JC, too. Jordan's been busy, and his work is much, much better than mine.

Okay, have you guys heard about PETA's new Sea Kitten schtick?

Don't get me wrong. I'm all for conservation and preserving the environment, and I'm definitely not a fan over-fishing. But attempting to... I don't even know how to describe it... to alter people's perceptions of fish by simply renaming them sea kittens is patently stupid. Sure, sure. There is some logic to the argument...

And to think while we're euthanizing all these strays cats and dogs there are people starving in the streets frown

Doesn't make sense to me.

I decided tonight I'm going to write a "real" blog on here, as opposed to just another update about my comic. Speaking of which, there was a new comic posted last week, but I didn't really announce it because I cheated. Horribly. For those interested, there will be a new comic Wednesday, as well.

But, no. I didn't join this site just to plug my...

I am sorry my dear, but you will have to be more obscure than that if you want to name a film I have yet to see. Though I do admit there are two Fellini's I have yet to see, but I promise they are already on my queue.

I'm plugging myself again, because, you know, I don't have anything else to say.

Working on a very special Christmas special for Workland Tales and it's coming along... well, not swimmingly, but not really drowningly either. And now Firefox is telling me that "drowningly" isn't a word. I get it red, squiggly lines! I get it!

Anyway, I'll be posting a new comic (hopefully) every...

Also, I posted two comics last week. Didn't announce the second, really. So, if you missed it, check it out!

I like snow, but the boyfriend who is from California is like a kid in a candy store, he is loving every moment of it.

We had to have my parents come and pick, they have a 4wd truck, so we could go to the store and get groceries. Now we are just up hanging at their house for the weekend. My mom is a great cook, so I decided it would be nice to stay up with them instead smile
