In three days, I am getting a piece of plastic put in my armpit that will make me 99.7% unlikely to have a baby within the next 3 years. Hooray for science!

not questioning your motives at all just intrigued at the thought of the arm pit controlling reproduction in some way. I hope you achieve 100% satisfaction.biggrin

I'm in the house!

I mean, not at the moment, I haven't set up internet there yet. But I have a key and I've slept there the last two nights smile I may spend the night at the apartment tonight, but that feels like cheating.

I love it!

Pictures will come soon. I feel kind of small in it- the house is big and old. It...

I went to the dr. today.

I will find out within 2 weeks if I need a cervical biopsy. And within 2 months if I need a breast ultrasound or mammogram.

Most people I knew from NY still have no electricity, heat, etc.

I'm closing on the house this coming Wednesday and I'm terrified that I won't be able to be an "adult" and own...

eeek fingers crossed on the medical stuff;
I've had a couple people close to me go through some rather scary issues recently. Stay diligent!
&
don't worry about the house.
I'm way "adult,"
and haven't properly maintained mine for the past twelve years.
wink
chefdaddy:
good luck with the doctor things. don't be scared of owning your house, it is definitely a good thing.

I'm 23 now! Almost a geezer...

I bought myself a typewriter for my birthday, but now I'm having serious issues getting the ribbon in properly. Of course, tonight is the first time I tried, so perhaps another attempt tomorrow could help smile

If anyone is familiar with installing double ribbons (black and white), I'd appreciate any input you have smile

uhm . . . I was gonna say that you have a long way to go before reaching "geezer" status,
but
then you had to go and buy an antique.
I'm surprised someone your age even knows what a typewriter is tongue
chefdaddy:
yesterday my daughter was laughing at a girl on tv using a typewriter. "Why is she using that thing? Where is her computer?" I said this particular episode of Full House is from a time when everyone didn't have a computer at their house. She was appalled. Enjoy 23, you are far from a geezer though I suspect you are an old soul.

So!

I am within a month or so of owning a house

I just found out that something I did at work was highlighted in this month's company newsletter, which means that my supervisor, her supervisor, and her supervisor (yes, I am a little low on the totem pole) all said or heard my name in a positive context, which is awesome.

I'm applying to...

I would like to come out and say something in 2012: I have been suicidally depressed, on and off, since I was four years old and understood the concept of death and permanence. While the feelings fade in and out, they are more or less always present. Generally speaking, if I'm not depressed, I'm well-distracted (which is why I spend quite a bit of time...

always wondered why people insist that to be "normal" or "healthy" you need to be happy. feelings are there, period....so wish the "experts" would accept this.

and good news on the streak....its always a good thing to see what kind of record you can set.
chefdaddy:
Good job ceasing your cutting, self destructive compulsion can be hard to resist. You are still and always one of my favorite people on SG.

I should probably post a 2012 blog... here it is smile
Not a whole lot to report, though there probably will be a few things soon.

How is your new year starting out?

Happier blog.

Today started when I made french toast and veggie sausage. I was then greeted by a groggy zombie who moaned, walked into the kitchen, and hugged me. I apologized for waking him with the noise, and he responded along the lines of "Noise didn't wake me. Smelled good. Arrrrrghrn".
After some coffee he was slightly more expressive.

I am currently waiting for some...

In case you've forgotten that I teach toddlers:
A two year old requested a tissue today, blew his nose several times, examined the tissue, and proclaimed "ew!" (side note: if something makes a two year old say "ew", it's bad). While I was telling him to put it in the trash can, he says "here!" and shoves it in my hand, "ew" side down.

I'm...

The class I'm teaching starts next Tuesday smile I'm so excited to meet the little guys (and girls)... most of them will be brand new to the school. I really hope I don't have many hitters, biters, etc. I know it's inevitable with toddlers, but with infants in the room too, it's more difficult to do damage control after someone's been hit.

I also hope I...

I'm so glad to read that! Pink lady apples are the best! I'm surprised you actually went out and tried them!
Have you tried them sliced with havarti cheese?!?! amazing.
auriga:
I completely understand. completely.
Those apples also go great just drizzled in honey and melted chocolate.

Maybe it's time for a new blog smile
I am in the process of being hired on full-time at the school... I know the classroom I'm assigned to and the name of my lead teacher (though I don't actually know her, since she was just hired on), but I haven't signed anything or turned in my transcript yet so there's a chance it could fall through,...

actually I like my criminal cases (and clients) far better than my divorce clients.
Defense work is fairly misunderstood and misportrayed in popular culture. It's less about finding "loopholes" and getting the guilty "off" and more about making sure the State can meet it's burden and if so, minimizing the damages.
