Luckily I had most of my pictures saved to disk, but I lost a whole lot of other stuff I had on there.

Anyway, I'm not in the mood to update,...

I spent this last weekend in, to quote the Pixies, "a town where I am going to live" (hopefully.....one day), Port Townsend, Washington, for their annual film festival.
Malcom McDowell was the special guest this year, and he was nice enough to take a photo with me and Seor Atlantis! I was quite thrilled to have my picture taken with "Alex de Large"....

shellymc:
so did you have fun this weekend? biggrin
shellymc:
How did you like IF?
and we ended up seeing Crank..
which was silly, stupid, and a whole lot of fun!
seriously, it made me miss speed shocked
but yeah, it was fun...
you need to post that pic of you and Malcolm!
I was a fan of "Roseanne" also...
but picking my top five fave sitcoms is hard..
i suppose its because i'm older than most people on this site (i'm sure you can relate)
and i've been exposed to so many t.v. series growing up.
I love swordfish also, but very rarely eat it since i found out they were endangered..
now that i know that i probably treat myself to it every couple of years.
It is a tasty one though...
today i scored some fresh tuna from my brother who went fishing recently biggrin
good to hear you had fun this weekend,
post that photo when you get a chance! kiss

I don't make them the "right" way... but I fry them at a super high temperature first... then bake them for 20 minutes in a watered down grade B maple syrup (with about 1/4 tsp. of sea salt mixed in) and theyr'e yummy! Tostones are much easier to make though...

frown I tried to go see Devotchka last night, but they sold out. frown
I stood outside for 45 minutes trying to score a ticket, but no luck, as I was not the only one looking. I almost bought a ticket online the day before, but didn't want to pay $7 in service fees for a $10 ticket. Oh well, I will not cheap out next time!...

Oh no! Sorry about your car. You should have let us know. We could have driven you home. I am glad it all worked out.

If you could live the rock star lifestyle for one month, what would you mostly blow your money on?
I think for me it would be day spa days and strip club nights.

Sorry, that's all I've got right now!

Strangely enough, I'd spend it all on aluminum siding and caulk. I'm thinking that that would be the prudent thing to do since I would clearly be buying real estate with my newfound wealth.

Oh, wait...I guess I should buy the properties first!

Isn't the concept of owning land just kind of odd? As if we can own the Earth!

I had five vegan cupcakes yesterday. They were all frigging good.

I do wish I were home now. whatever

Thanx for your nice comment about my set. I'm so happy you loved it. kiss

Time for a new post! As promised I saw quite a few movies this last week, starting with "Once in a Lifetime" (I saw this instead of Lady in the Water after I saw how bad the reviews were), about the rise and fall of the 1970s New York Cosmos soccer team. As a fan of the LA Aztecs I was very interested in seeing...

Don't feel bad, no one else seems to know either. I'll have to find a copy of the film and watch the credits, I suppose.

Oh, you can get Jackass seasons 1 and 2 on DVD, and they're playing trailers now for a second Jackass flick as well. That first movie, I almost tossed my cookies when they we're giving each other paper cuts...~shiver~ eeek

There's a bit of an Irish accent, but it's not much of a brogue anymore. It comes out a lot more when he's in Ireland. I love expressions like "sure, you're grand" and "how are ya's?"

We just watched Eraserhead, and I hope it doesn't give me nightmares! I remember falling asleep during Lost Highway, most likely because I just couldn't maintain interest. I have to say Mulholland Drive is one of the most badass movies I have ever seen. And the girl-on-girl love scene -- hello! It's the icing on the cake. wink

I'm glad you liked Spielerfrau....

I'm a bit of a movie freak, but lately there hasn't been much in the theaters that I've wanted to see, so I'm kind of excited that there are some seemingly good flicks coming out soon! This saturday I will see "Lady in the Water", just because I really liked "Unbreakable", "Signs" and "The Sixth Sense", it could be bad, but I do respect M....

I don't know If I could use the word beautiful for it... calling it such would put me on a level of being an aesthete who saw roses bloom in bullet wounds...

Clerks 2 is awesome, also... a little less cerebral and more sentimental, but definately a good time still.

1.Ryan
2.Lestat
3.Blueberries
4.Autumn
5.I don't watch sports.
6.Like 8. But for actual masturbation to completion? probably 14.
7.Soup
8.30 Seconds to Mars
9.Chasing Amy

I think i have seen "The minus man"
is that the one where Mercedes Ruehl rents out a room to him
and he is a polite sociopath?
if that is the one, he was really good in it.
Roy Battys death scene was so moving in Blad Runner, that speech
still makes me all teary eyed.
and Boyz n the hood is a good choice also, do you know that
that film so bummed me out, that i never rewatched it again in its
entirety?
i spelled that wrong...
gotta get ready for work..
have a good day!

As you may have guessed, I'm back from LA. I had a great trip, but I was really glad to come home after 10 days of heavy duty, non-stop socializing!
I have been nothing but lazy since I got home, too much traveling of late, and I am really looking forward to NOT going anywhere for a couple of months. I'm too lazy to post...

I loved "Clerks"....
i also kind of liked "Dogma" whatever
"Chasing Amy" had its moments, but i didn't love it.

i also saw "Jersey girl" just last year, and i didn't think it was half

Well I'm off to LA tonight for 10 days to work and to visit family & friends. I was so happy to leave LA, but I love going back to visit, there is so much there, other than family & friends (& bouganvillea & cheap avocados) that I really do miss.

Charles Bukowski said it best....smile

Finally, I'm updating, I don't really have the time, but I'm tired of looking at my own blog! smile

Yesterday I was at the dentist, and if that wasn't bad enough, while stuck in the chair I was subjected to "Harden My Heart" by Quarterflash. puke
