I definitely agree. I know that I was a person when I was 13. Hell, I was practically engaged. My mother had me all kinds of almost married off to someone from age 12 on. Or I was madly in love with someone.

I think it's important to treat teens like grownups until they prove they can't behave like grownups. They will typically surprise you. I was pretty surprising.
