Kikibabe has a good point -- see if you can't wrench someone's arm to get you a workstudy job. I'd be surprised if you weren't eligible; most financial aid packages include one. Or at least, they did when I was going to college back in my day, when we had to walk seven miles to college barefoot in the snow, uphill both ways along a path littered with broken spoons from Crate and Barrell.
