I struggle with this too. I've blocked a few people from upper management prior to any requests to make sure they can't see. Maybe check into your company's HR policies and see if there's anything on there about termination.

i vote private; not because there is anything to try and hide, but so that you have a bit of the control back in a situation that may render you helpless... like awkward co-worker lunches before you've been given the chance to know them and tell them yourself. I've gone through the same troubles. i ultimately chose to be private. <3

I'm finally here! Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It's cold and snowy, but it's nice. I think I might really enjoy this place. I went to the West Edmonton Mall yesterday and finally bought a winter coat. P.S. That mall is insane.. there is a roller coaster inside!

I once rode that rollercoaster 7 times in a row because there weren't enough people in line to fill it, so the guy let us keep riding in the front. Crazy fun. Edmonton's a great city, especially in the summer. It's where I learned to play ultimate frisbee and made some of the best friends I've ever had. One of my sisters is there and is really connected to the arts scene, especially live music. Seems like they always have a lot going on. I'm sure you'll find no shortage of things to do and get involved in there.
