Getting the right lighting for a photoshoot isn't too hard... I use a 60 watta desk lamp, a 100 watt desk lamp... and usually one light directed at the ceiling for softer lighting. I use a tripod, remote and timer... and then I'm game. I also use a mirror behind my digital camera to see that I am within the fram of the photo.
