Hey my other pics went up - cool! The reason I never post is that I don't have a computer. Now I don't even have a roommate who has a computer. I don't have any roommates at all!

This summer seems so unsummery. It's just like the rest of the year but warm out. Not fun or sentimental like summer is supposed to be.... but maybe it's up to us to make it that way.

Bleah. I am still hella bummed out for various reasons. When do I get to the point when it starts getting better again? I biked, drank, and served chicken all weekend. I woke up painfully early Friday morning because that's what happens when I drink. I woke up painfully early this morning because I was in a bed where I didn't belong and wanted to...

It gets better again.. I don't know when.. you'll be suddenly eating potatoes out of a beautiful red ceramic bowl and reading about someone else's woe and you'll be like.. hmmm.. it's better again.

Hmmm. I usually sleep in when I get.. unless I have to get up.

Books.. well if you're feeling down I'd try to read something energizing.. fear and loathing in las vegas is a good recommendation.. it's energizing though not terribly cheering. Something like reading Richard Brautigan always brightens my day. I'd especially recommend A Confederate General in Big Sur, the Hawkline Monster, and In Watermelon Sugar.

You're a Buddy Holly fan? I was just listening to me Buddy Holly 20 Golden Greats on vinyl last night. Ahh.. such a good idea to steal that record from my dad. (who never listens to his records) I especially like Well...Allright and Rave On.

Now I'm listening to the ear-crippling noisefest that is Rocket from the Tombs. (and yes I mean Tombs, not Crypt)

Hmmm.. I don't suppose any of that was helpful albeit except for moral support.

I liked Strip City by Lily Burana. and the new harry potter book rocked me!

After the whirlwind of the conference, then Texas, I've been dropped back down here at home in Oregon. It's a letdown and I'm bummed out and I don't know what to do with myself. Without something keeping me occupied, I have nothing to keep myself from falling backwards into my own head. It is so dangerous. I feel even less connected than I did before...

well, I don't know you and you don't know me, but what I think about all that is that when you are someplace new, you have other things to think about besides your problems, so you think the new place helps. But after being there for a bit, the same demons follow you.
Either that, or I'm just a nutjob and moving from New Orleans to Colorado didn't help that.

Mmmm. Maybe I'll make cookies tonight. Mmm. cookies. Cream of broccoli soup is good too though. I've been wondering if you gave your kids tons of sweets and withheld healthy food from them if they'd desperate crave and consider said healthy food a guilty pleasure. I don't know.

You seem to be the first SG that I've been able to find that's politically active in some way.. or maybe the others don't spell it out so much.

Oregon seems to me better than Texas, but then I'm not in either place. Texas seems like fun, but could be problematic to me politcally. But then that depends on how like "Texas" Texas is. But hearing some of the political coverage on the justice system Texas seems pretty much like "Texas" to me. Not too many boys in makeup running the streets.

Enjoying your favorite favority things. Waits, Holly, Cave, Pop (his Stooges period rather than solo) all rock. I'm only a fan of Bowie on occasion. (I tend to like 2-3 songs per album)
I prefer Cave's Birthday Party period, but enjoy some of his solo work, especially "Murder Ballads".

Tampopo is a crazy wonderful noodle fest. Lovin' it.

Otherwise I should return to my schoolwork, my fun work (music geek related stuff), and my volunteer work. Oh and 'work' work, but that always seems the least fun. If only I could combine them all.

Today we went tubing down a river! There are hella trashy people who float in innertubes in bikinis, with a cooler of beer in another innertube, and holler at eachother, for alot of hours. There are lots of turtles, too, who swim around among the people and are cute. I like Texas. Then we got tacos. The tacos here come in fresh, puffy flour tortillas...

Today we got caught in a mini flash flood. It started thundering a little, then all of a sudden we came out of Savers and it was dumping down rain, soaked in 45 seconds, separated from the bus stop by a lake, prohibited from crossing the intersection by an ocean, sad blue recycling bin floating down the middle of the street. I kept slipping around...

The best thing about Texas is you get to wear short shorts every day. It's OK that you're incapacitated from the heat, cause at least you look good. I walked to the store today and saw three pedestrians. It was messed up. There are only sidewalks 1/5 of the time. But everyone walks up and down 6th street, where there are clubs and piano bars...

It is so hott here!! A mere walk to the food co-op becomes a trek across the desert. Texas is cool, they sell Mexican pan dulce in the grocery store. I bought some sorority-style white platform flip flops to wear. They rule! Last night we went out and my friend's friends bought me drinks. Instead of PBR they drink Lone Star Beer here, it's funny....
