What kind of wheels/bearings are you rocking when you do that? I'm in the market for something other than my radar's. When I got my skates I only had speed in mind. You look great!
@gadget I've got rollerbones team wheels (57 mm 98a) and I think redbones bearings. I really like the 98a hardness for indoor/skatepark skating. Good mix of speed/agility/control. Trail or other outdoor skating I'm usually on 62mm 78a wheels 🙂
I'm currently only rolling with Radar Presto's that are 62 x 44 97a (so that's pretty close). Things are fucking HUGE to say the least and very wide (for stability at high speeds through the curve). Do you end up having to change your wheels back and forth? Or did you just get a second pair? Do you use the same bearing set up indoor vs outdoor? I had a pair of skates years ago I got for outdoor... but I think the bearing setup was too intense because it was terrifying... You're the best lady! Gotta love talking preferred hardness with Nebs! 😉
@gadget I have two pairs of skates right now! I really wanna get a third just for park skating ahaha, but two is nice to not have to change the wheels every time haha. I do have the same bearings in both right now though :)
@gadget I have to check the width on my rollerbones wheels - but they are not that wide, I don't think. The stock outdoor wheels that came on my moxi skates were REALLY wide. It helped a lot with stability when I was first learning, but definitely got in the way after I had a bit of experience under my belt. I felt like I way leveled up with skating as soon as I swapped those wheels out lol, everything became easier. They were really gummy too though (78a). I still have 78a on my outdoor skates but not as wide. And actually looking at sizing down to 57mm on those but can't spend more money on skate stuff at the moment lol
I had three pair! When I came back east to move the rest of my stuff back west before the pandemic, I donated the two pair I had here! Luckily my former roommate was willing to send me the pair I left behind in NM. If only I'd held on to my old derby pair! They were really well broken in. Life is funny.
