patience is a must when knotting your hair up. the first year is tough because you want to do things with the locs but cant. i have been locd since nov 99 . i was damn near bald when i decided to let my hair grow. it would be much longer now if i hadnt cut several incehes off a few times. it was getting in the way of my collar on my work clothes.
just stay patient & remember that there is no such thing as a bad loc. what you may think is messy, is actually perfect for that stage. get all ideas of what is considered beautiful & push them out of your mind. embrace the beauty of your kinky, tightly curled hair!
