Well, there's this David Sedaris story I read that notes that if you refer to yourself as "weird," you're probably not weird at all, which I would agree with.
But the chick with the pig... now that's weird. Two people had asked if I'd seen this pig on the previous days I volunteered, and I was like "WTF are you talking about?" and then tonight I saw it wandering around. It's, like, a BOAR! But smaller. It's named "Princesse." Dude, pigs can't be princesses. And they can't go into my theatre! It was squealing and snorting and rubbing itself on the door to the venue. Totally weird.
I sometimes really have to psych myself up to ride the bike, especially on super hot days, cus slathering on the sunscreen and strapping on the helmet and the backpack and getting a bottle of water and everything seems like too much fucking effort. Plus the exercise, ugh! But when I get on the bike, I do really like riding it. When you can get going really fast with the wind in your face, it just feels so good, and it's so much faster than shambling along, it's like the difference between driving and flying. The other night I was whizzing down to HQ in all these deserted streets, and I was like "man, if these were always carless, this would be PERFECT." I keep missing Car Free Day where they close Ste-Catherine to car traffic downtown and bikes can just ride up and down the streets, but it must be great. Fuck, I wish I lived someplace where bikes were the dominant mode of transportation.
