I hate to replace my last blog since I loved having my friends read the beautiful poem Kathy sent me, but it's time for more current news.

As most of you know, the past year has been a living Hell for me in so many ways. Well, my first Social Security check was posted into my checking account today right on schedule. It's not a huge amount, but it's probably more money than i've had since the end of last year combined

I have lots of things I need to do with the money, including starting to pay the people back who have helped keep me afloat, especially my daughter Heather. I probably won't have much left once I get through with my expenditures. I don't care. It feels so good to see myself as a person again. It's also a comfort to know that I have a set amount coming in every month. There were times over the past year that I didn't think i'd ever make it to this point.

Whie there are still issues, mostly my precarious housing situation, (i'm still working on it), I feel like i made it out of the darkness into the light. After so much hopelessness and despair, i'm very grateful for the things II have in my life.that I probably would have taken for granted in the past. I'll definitely have several things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

One of the things i've been thankful for even in my darkest hours are all of you. You've made a real difference in determining if I was going to pull through.
