I love that book. Too bad I loaned it to a friend whom I never see anymore.

I haven't read that in over 20 years. I actually did a term paper on Orwell (Eric Arthur Blair ... I don't know why I remember that) and 1984 back in 1984.

Yes, I am old. It got me an 'A' ... and got my girlfriend an 'A' the following year in a different school. Shhhhh!! Secret!

Big Brother is here now. Especially in the USA, the goverment bodies are watching the people closer and closer. Freedoms are slowly being eroded away.

We've always been at war with terrorists.
We've always been supporting freedom fighters.

I read that again not too long ago. Good book.

Fantastic book, but every time I read it, I tend to get very, very depressed...

what is stunning about this book is that when you're reading some parts, you say too yourself "ok, this is too much, this could never happen in our society", and when you're reading some other parts, you're thinking " omg, it seems that we have already this kind of situation, at least our society is evolving this way"
This book is great, still very actual, i think it's the kind of book that never gets old, never gets obsolete, it's like a reminder....

good book... a bit longer than it needed to be though. I like Animal Farm better. it got right to the point!

I think that was the only book I was required to read in HS that I wanted to read.
