thought it'd wear 'em out... but they had their 4th/5th winds by each evenin' *laughs* - go figure! so gettin' 'em to finally crash was an effort unto itself !
and - like any weekend/time with ANYone - had it's moment(s) of "what the hell, man?!" ... my youngest, often the most loving and sweetest, has a bit of an attitude side to her when she's 'had enough' and decides rules don't apply and she'll do what she wants
*shrugs/sighs* - I deal with it in my way, the ex deals with it differently ... but they should be used to the fact that each home has differing rules by now ( and know the rules well )
my eldest - now a teen - hasn't seemed to have changed an iota ... yet ;) - I'm sure it'll be coming soon enough ... or can we possibly be lucking out with this one ??
workwise has been busy with lots of little oddities and changes - which is something I've liked about working there, facing brand new challenges and finding ways to overcome and make them work :)
so, aye, I still like my job... and they seem to like me ( it's been over a decade now, so one'd hope ;) )
weatherwise, things have been shifting towards long-sleeve weather again *sighs* - and short-sleeve season was so late in arriving in the first place! :(
aye, that's what I get for living up in "north country" - the farthest south *I*'ve ever lived, but nowhere near southern in the least
elsewise *shrugs* ... my laundry basket is on its last legs and can't find similar ones anywhere :(
just a couple nights ago EVERY fan in my apartment died :( ... so the apartment has been warmer than usual - and quieter *sighs*
...aye, I can get the fans just about anywhere - but the closest place that sells 'em is a 15min walk down trails or a 45min walk on sidewalks
either way, would be a bitch trying to carry ONE fan whichever direction let alone the 3 that I need/want for the apartment :(
- I'm not exactly reknown for my upper-body strength, but the fans are more awkward to carry than heavy anyways...
oh well - maybe I can enlist the ex next weekend to help me pick up fans... hopefully target has them as usual ( though they often only carry one or two of any given ANYthing I need/want at a time - like bookshelves which I also need )
the 'presumption'/'assumption' game is in full swing with particular people *laughs*
it's odd, but I kinda of enjoy it :
* I've only been travelling a few years now, but it's pretty much assumed now that I've already travelled everywhere including out of the country *sighs*
( yeah, not so much : Vegas ('11 & '12), San Fran ('15), Nevada/Arizona border ('16), Black Hills/Badlands ('16), NE Minnesota ('17), & LA-MS-MO-IA ('18) )
so when I bring up places I get the odd response of "but weren't you there [last year/recently/etc] ?" uhm, that'd be a NO, never, and not yet in my lifetime *sighs*
weirdly surprised at some of the negative responses I'm getting towards my plans to visit Hawai'i next year *ponders*
hells, even relatives assume that the vacas they took decades back with my fathre, mothre, & sister(s) that I was with ... that'd be a no, not since before I was 15 and there was no huge vacas in that time period
( one that gets brought up often was this BIG roadtrip "all the relatives" took - which I wasn't even aware of and didn't find out until they returned as I had been asked to watch my parent's house and on the last day suddenly all these vehicles were pulling up
...I was honestly VERY PO'd and when they started asking why I wasn't with and wanted to play me the video I essentially said fuck this, grabbed my fathre's truck keys, and left in HIS vehicle for a few days...
not that I was surprised, this was the "game" back then - even when I wasn't working, which wasn't often, I wasn't invited let alone asked or made aware of any of the trips - roadtrips or flights )
there's also the assumption that I must be rich ( yeah, right - laughs! ) or am out partying all the time or have women at my beck-and-call ( here, ladies, I'm right here - you're welcome anytime, s'been awhile! )
oh well - nothing I can do to appease those beasts, they never believe my negatives to those
admittedly it's hilarious the responses when people realize I haven't owned a vehicle since '99 - and work for an auto parts company !
ah, but that's reality for you, I suppose... but, ANYways, that's all I've got to ramble on about, my Lovelies & Gentlefolk...
keep smiling, laughing, Living and enjoying Life !
twittage ::
8/29 : demn... my laundry basket, which has lasted decades, is reaching the end of its lifespan - even more disappointing, because the particular 'style' of my laundry basket I don't see in stores that I frequent :(
* apparently they were discontinued : no longer market for single-load size baskets & safety concerns in some markets >:(
8/29 II : *shivers* had someone try to "explain" (and fail miserably at it) how ALL laws are morally evil and unnecessary and that those who enforce the laws or support those who enforce the laws are more evil than those who made them ... *yeesh* I'm at least glad they're not my neighbour
9/2 : there is no 'I' in Tenebre... or Phenomena... or Mother Of Tears - unless you count Suspiria and Inferno or Demoni or Dario Argento in general... oh, hey, and giallo, for that matter, so I guess the 'I' is just... inferred (with an 'i")
9/2 II : after some time at Urban Air and then some good eats & service at Perkins, the girls are on their 4th ( maybe 5th? ) wind with hilariously rubbery legs and nigh mentally shot *laughs* ( we originally intended Olive Garden, but FAR too busy - Perkins was quiet and great! )
9/3 : not even a day away from my spawnlings starting a new year in their middle school ( only year they'll both be there ) ... *whew* does time fly ! and the poor things have no idea what the world has in store for them ;)
9/3 II : why, yes, twitter & fb, I would like to follow N0bama //sarcasm// ... seriously, after 8yrs of that nonsense what in the 7 hells makes anything think I'd want to purposefully put up with more ? ( is that why fb was down for awhile - some kind of 'recommend hack' ?!?
9/4 : Get the Body YOU want TODAY ! Local Graveyards are open and our Highly-Trained Brain Surgeons & Body Sculptors are Standing By to make YOUR dreams become Reality ! * We are NOT Responsible for Deterioration or Questionable Body Sources - Not AMA Approved, Side Effects Unknown
9/6 : a bit scary that we're already into long-sleeve weather - after such a late start into short-sleeve weather, too! *grumbles* - all-too soon it'll be jacket weather and then good-gods-the-pain weather *deep sigh* ... can we just skip right to spring this time ?
9/6 II : demn it all - now add fans to the list of household items that need replacement... the bedroom one died previously ( last year? ), but now the living room and girls' room fans have died ( on the same bleedin' day! ) *sighs*
9/7 : would a vegetable-based intelligent species consider vegetarianism to be cannibalism - or just a part of (their) food chain ? would they have "meatatarians?"
9/8 : there's something intriguing - and, honestly, kind of comforting - in that I know exhibitionists who would never model or photograph in the nude and I also know nude models that would never show skin in public ... keeps my world intriguing and wonderfully unique :) <3 to you all
