I've never taken this long a vaca before - and it's just the first of two, with the 2nd upcoming in July which'll feature Denver
this first of the vaca duet, however, is going to include an undestinationed roadtrip
( cue the music )
last year's semi-undestinationed roadtrip from MinnKota to SoDak was fun, so figured a 2nd round isn't a bad idea, neh ?
figure I'll start off with a jaunt north-northwesterly up to GF, t'see a good friend for the 2nd time in a year span
( how often does that happen, neh? not often with me, that's for certain! )
from there, who knows...
thinkin' maybe I'll go see where the farm used t'be that I spent part of my childhood at
- 15miles from the nearest small towns, I know from what people've told me that all that remains in the area other than fields is the graveyard 1/2mile down from where the farm was, but still *shrugs*
might be a weirdly enjoyable stop down memory lane, assuming I can remember more than the last year there ( which is as far back as my memory really goes, honestly/sadly )
from there, again, who knows...
I've only been eastward twice of the MN border - once a trip to Peoria and back in '96 that ended with the car accident that cracked my skull and led to my memory loss, the 2nd a trip to the UP to help a friend close up their cabin a few years ago
so - mayhaps eastward ?
southward, well, there's Iowa - also known as the Gateway To Hell... but mayhaps if I actually drove through it there's a world beyond Hell ?
*smirks*
whatever it is that I end up doing, it's still pretty trippy that I've effectively got 1/2 a week of workdays left of the month *laughs*
so, yeh, I'm gonna enjoy the 7 hells out of it, including the week of car rental and wherever I may roam in that time :)
...and then in just a couple months it's vaca round 2, the Denver Experience *laughs*
that's gonna be trippy in-and-of itself, not only taking a vacation with someone for the first time, but it'll be my first family vaca with my daughters as well as their first flight
aye, flying first class, so pretty much spoiled, but still *grins*
crazy way to experience Denver for the first time, I'm sure, but - hey - so be it
yeh, we won't be mid-Denver, but I'm sure there'll be places t'check out within walkability
that and the ex has a car rented for while we're there for when she's not testing
and, no, don't get any ideas - as some have already tried - of the ex and I with this trip... we've become friends in the past decade and that's all, that's it - which is a good thing with our daughters, neh ? sorry to disappoint, but the love's long gone
ANYways, hope my Lovelies and Gentlefolk are having a decent springtide and mayhaps I'll see one or two of you in the future to come
Here's to Living Life !
twittage ::
5/6 : late start, but THE fuzzbutt chirping on the deck is encouragement t'get my walk on, maybe catch a flick or two if I end up in that area...
5/6 II : was something fitting about walking to see Guardians/Galaxy Vol 2 in 3D while listening to the Guardians/Galaxy soundtrack on my zune... :)
and, hey, got 10miles in today ( with Guardians break ) before I decided to give my body a break... not too shabby, though my legs disagree
5/6 III : nap dream: watching a film in 'canadian' dub ( Bob & Doug McKenzie-style ) w/ equally funny english subtitle - why hasn't this been done ?
5/7 : AHCA already has 2 advantages over N0bamacare : congressmen are reading it before voting, & it doesn't bullshit calling itself 'affordable'
...that's not including removal of the N0bamacare Bullshit Fee ( 'Mandate' ) - $$ those who couldn't afford N0bamacare will never get back
5/8 : for as far as I've seen people go for drugs - even farther if you keep them from it! - think how far they could push themselves if clean...
and, yes, that even goes for the 'weed doesn't affect you' naysayers - go ahead, get rid of their 'weed' and see how 'nice' they are after
5/9 : while he was somewhat satisfied the answer was not really "the souls of the unborn," he still wondered what flavour it really was...
5/10 : a week from this mornin' I'll be waking to my 1st day of vacation, not returning to work 'til the 30th - whatEVER will I do with myself? ;)
5/10 II : why do I feel that even in times of elegance and propriety I'd have been a bit of a scoundrel ? an awkward scoundrel, to be sure, but yet !
5/11 : with mere days left before I'm off on vacation and an overfull work docket, of course the time is now for several items to be brought up !
