on the cinematiq side, I love my love (heh - "love my love" *ahem*) mixed with a nice dose of humour... a great example is the film I just finished watching before I began writing this, D.E.B.S., which is a fun mix of action, romance, and comedy (though those of the bigoted variety are apt to be a bit squeamish as the love is between two young women).
admittedly, I haven't personally had the best luck with love, but *shrugs* and no worries. I have my friends, some of which I love dearly ( whether they like it or not ;) )
today, what with this morning's Supreme Court decision that Marriage is Marriage, sans the prefix or add-ons, is a truly wonderous example of love coupled with joyous freedom...
I have numerous friends that will now be able to marry their partners (or find a partner to marry, as the case may be *grins*) wherever they may be in the US or US territories :)
Freedom, Bitches!, that's what that's called !! :D
on a side note, last weekend I spoke to my fathre not once but twice... he'll be turning 70 mere days after I turn The Answer To The Ultimate Question Of Life, The Universe, And Everything!
I hadn't been able to reach/speak to him since October, so talking to him twice was a nice treat ( not that everything he's been doing/having to do has been great for him, but nonetheless... )
ah, the world is a crazy and often dangerous place - but that's why the world needs love, in all of its forms (as long as its legal, of course)
a world without love would be so excrutiatingly boring!
ANYways, here's to love, my lovelies and gentlefolk, may you find it and keep it, even in the most unusual of places :)
a weeksworth of twits ::
6/20 :
"take it like a man" doesn't have to mean up the ass sans lube... willpower and intent trumps sucking it up and pretending no pain ANY day!
6/21 :
Happy Father's Day/Summer Solstice to my fathre Tom ( glad I was able to finally get ahold of you! ) and all the decent fathers out there!
6/21 II :
a neighbour was in UC/Hospice over 6mths, having had his other leg amputated - his wife now cut her hours so he wouldn't be alone all day
6/24 :
is there truly anything in the world that could be more useful than a well-trained apocalyptic deathchicken? other than, of course, bacon.
6/24 II :
the best thing a woman can wear is a smile
...and if that's all she's wearing, then you're lucky, indeed ;)
6/26 :
weirdly funny/anger-inducing dream of kicking out visiting relatives refusing to follow the house rules and screwing up grocery delivery :(
6/26 II :
this morning's SC decision brought out the bigots, allowing me to unfollow three (so far) whose ignorant ramblings ranged from the merely asinine to utterly assaholic.
I fully believe in free speech, but that doesn't mean I have/want to read rantings of the purposefully-ignorant, self-important religulous-is-law fruitcakes.
and whatever school, personal, relative, or friend-of-friend connections we had, the only way I'd re-friend 'em is by accident or seeking of mental help for their religious-lobotomy.
6/26 III :
What marriage means: two individuals of legal age, sound mind, and free will become legally recognized as a couple via an official contract

unusualist - I have yet to find a religion and/or spirituality that fits my own personal beliefs... other than, of course, the fact I am a (fallen) god.
( y'just now figured out that I'm basically a non-practicing hedonist? "if it feels good, do it, if it feels bad, you're doing it wrong" )
( "I believe in the proven power of willpower and the truth we are the gods we created. No one being created this universe and its wonders." )
( "the words of wisdom I follow will be the words I've written myself based on the life and experiences that I have Lived, Enjoyed, & Survived" )
( "I live not for tomorrow nor yesterday, but for the day in which I dwell - today. Today is who I am, I know not who I'll be tomorrow, nor am I who I once was. Aspects of yesterday may remain into tomorrow, but I'm never completely the same, for each day I live, I learn and this knowledge changes me, rebuilds part of me, and I am anew." )
( "may the platelets of justice travel the bloodstream of villainy, clog its arteries with honourable vengeance, and induce a coronary of truth" )
( "we are all inmates in the same asylum, some of us are just better at bribing the guards" / *breathe ... relax ... kill ... rinse ... repeat* )
( "Who do I think I am? thom Wolfox sR Rhose, official slaveboy, SchmooGod of the MidWest, and RedKnight of Pattern - amongst other names, why?" )
( "In a previous life I was the engine block to a '56 chevy, I lost my heart to a Volkswagen Bus... er, wait - or was that a '57?" )
( "I may not be the brightest orange in this bag o'donuts, but I know vasoline when I smell it!" / "Godfuck Me, Jesus!" )
"Just fear me, love me, do as I say, and I will be your slave..."
"Oh, man. I'm sensing something very canadian about this place..."
"It's all true, god's an astronaut, Oz is over the rainbow, and Midian is where the monsters live..."
