Bought the Tahoe tonight. A Jeep Gran' Cherokee would probablly fit my needs more. It's ot as huge as a battleship like the Tahoe. It has rear windows that roll down enough for Bear to be able to get his head out the window. That's a real pisser. Who designs a car where the rear windows only go down four inches? Cheverolet that's who. Plus many Cherokees come with sunroofs. I have truly missed having a sunroof. So why go for it with all those cons? Well, for one I never have to wonder if I'll have the power to pull the boat. But now I'll have to take the boat out enough to justify the vehicle. That doesn't sound too bad. ;-) Also, the cargo area is huge and sleeping in it for road trips will be easier if I decide I don't want to use the tent. Skiing trips can be two dayers without the expense of a hotel.

Side bar: I fucking hate boom cars. Audio fucking bullies. I have visions of them booming thier ass and their 15's around a fucking telephone pole.

So, get the thing paid for tomorrow and I can finally quit thinking/bitching about cars.

Oh yeah, the other thing that made me go ahead and take the Tahoe is I walked away enough times to get them down quite a bit. I lowballed them at 5:10 on the last day of the month and they bit. First they said no, and I left. Like clockwork I had the dealer calling me before I got home. Tip from Ranger Dave. Figure out what the trade in value of the car is. Edmunds is your friend Then decide how much profit you want to give them. If they paid the full trade-in value they aren't that hot as business men. (just guessing) I figure they paid around 4k for the Tahoe (that's on the high end) So I was willing to give them a grand when it all comes down to it. Then remember to not be emotionally attached to the vehicle. Be aloof and don't buy into the bullshit. (I like to smile and nod and agree and not let them know I realize they are steering me and whatnot. This way I don't show all my cards by disputing every little thing. Example... just say 'nah I don't want the extended warranty. if they push as to why tell them it's a gut feeliing and you are learning right or wrong to start listening to your instincts. Say that rather than saying "This is a Mechanical Breakdown warranty and does not cover wear and tear. 99% of what is going to break on a car with 120k miles is going to be due to wear and tear. So giving you 2,300 dollars for a warranty just to be told over and over again 'this repair is not covered' just seems silly"
And walk away from the deal at least once. Go home and let em sit a few days.

Damn... I'm starting to bore myself with all this shite. ;-)
