Hello all.
The insanity is setting in. Friends and people are breaking down outside of class. Stress and lack of sleep have people on campus crying and passing out on tables and in books. People sleeping in the ARC is no longer uncommon especially now that it is open 24hrs and free coffee at 1am on campus has started. My roommate has been on campus since 11pm last night and is in fact still there and she probably hasn't slept yet and yesterday we got and extension of our scifi lit paper and a student actually thanked her because she would be crying less. Not completely but less
Ah finals. You can smell the stress and defeat in the air so thick you could spread it on pancakes.
I however am not immune. I have been sitting in front of my computer hopped up on massive ammounts of caffeine and haven't eaten anything since yesterday probably and I'm typing like a mad man.
Finals is how I stay thin.
That and the heat of the Sacramento weather coming on in my second story apartment. My cheep ass rent is totally worth the heat though. I'm sitting here in a sarong trying to keep cool. I need to invest in a utility-kilt.
I plan to get 6 pages done of my 12 pager tonight and then do another 3 or 6 on Saturday and then the rest Sunday which will leave me more room to study for everything else that isn't as important.
Just when I didn't think I could become any more pompous as an English major I discovered goodreads.com. This also led to me finding out that my scifi teacher also has an account and posts on the same scifi site that I post on. Which is awesome and hillarious. It's always nice to find huge nerds in accadema and they all seem to be in the English department. The nerds and the drinkers. There's a reason the cheep campus bar is right next to the English department. We joke that it's because of all the depressing lit we have to read.
Speaking of being depressed. In case you didn't know Mental Health Awareness Month is here, so care, be aware and hug any and all friends who are bravely battling their mental illness. Hug all your friends who have to carry their med bottles and pill boxes around with them. Like me lol.
