You weren't talking about A Girl called "Eddi Reader" were you?
doctashock:
you're already on the right path.
souljerk:
sun ra, commands a blood letting...
runk:
Don't mention Jesse Ventura in front of a Minnesotan...we're still healing.
lilmissmorbid:
I bent my wookiee
cheech:
Dude, I am shattered coming home from Barnes & Noble and realizing I'll just have to Amazon for my own damned self half the wishlist I gave to my mom. I mean, I know she'll find The Who, but I bet these L7 stores won't even have Memphis Minnie, let alone Julius Hemphill!

I was gonna write something else, but the booze is kicking in. I want to start an Art Ensemble of Alexandria but this town is full of SQAURES! yes, SQAURES!!
cheech:
Ohohoh, I remember what I was gonna say!

I am pissed off looking through the COltrane sections, too. Sure, they have (yawn) A Love Supreme and crap like Coltrane for Lovers.... lovers???!?!!!?!?? Well, shit, I like love and all... but some of us DON'T GET ANY love, so what I wanna know is-- where is Coltrane for People Who Want to Smash the Crooked State and Scream in David Shwimmer's Face!?!??

"ONE DOWN, ONE UP," you FRIENDS FUCK!!!
binkymcqueen:
In regards to his drunken comment above....somebody cue the lad in for Christ Sake

hint hint

The first time I listened to The shape of jazz to come
and side A ends in the rolliking waves and blast ...I knew that rock and roll was for squares....I mean who gives a fuck how nice a g chord is strummed....it is not going to take you over the river of styx like an 8 piece band with a knack for free form...I never really looked back in high school....I fell in love with vinyl, and Jazz--to this day nothing excites me quite like that....except for Morricone or a few other composers....really, you need to pick up that irving Stone memorial concert.....and by the way..checked out the newly re-released Fender Baritone Jazzmaster....sweet mother of God that thing demands respect......later chico...and remeber --if the few of us left fail to fight the good fight..we all lose...

Keep working. Never stop listening. Stop and die. Nothing is invalid. Nothing is correct. Nothing is bad. Nothing is good. There is only what you like and what you don't like. Free Jazz told me that I am somebody. Free Jazz told me that my voice could be anywhere at anytime. Free Jazz told me that someone will listen. Everyone's wrong. Including me. There is strength and solace in that notion.

You write like Free Jazz.

Nutter butters eh? I'm not familiar, must be an american junk food thing. Perhaps I'll investigate when I'm in LA in February. smile robot kiss

arachnequarius:
greetings, kind sir. i am soooooo much better, and thank you for the empathy.

what an amazing entry - very moving and mystical unto itself. i must profess an ignorance of free jazz, but your writing makes me wish to pursue it further.

wishing you the best, as ever. kiss

apostrophenow:
Yep, if the Starship Enterprise were powered by Free Jazz instead of Dilythium Crystals...

...who knows?
