It's surreal. Like something out of a myth or a bible verse. The flooding and arc. So many terrifying things are happening all at once and it seems everyone is caught up in it or trying their best to help out. Much like throwing rocks at a tank.

Regardless, know that we're all pulling for you and everyone else who has been touched by this. I have a friend who went to Tulane who I haven't been able to reach. I hope to hear from her soon. Once again, good luck. As a testament to the human spirit, I'm positive you'll pull through.

I'm so glad you made it out of NOLA unscathed and I'm sick to death that the assistance your city needs is coming so late in the game. I hope each person that still has a chance to make it out is able to.

We're trying to get something organized in the state of Iowa to host families and individuals and get them on their feet. There needs to be more done nationwide to ensure that everyone that got out has a fair chance at starting over and repair themselves mentally and physically.

Bon chance to you.

From what i've been hearing through the grapevine is that there was minimal looting on magazine street. The rest of uptown didn't really have looting. I'm hoping thats true. I still think the looters should be shot, but so long as they're sticking to stores and not homes i feel a smidgen better.

Oh man ... I think your profile is even more heartwrenching than your journal. I'm so sorry for what you are going through. I'm glad you're okay.
