i feel like there is a train conductor living in my head. i can't sleep more than 4 hours a night, because i'm sick and i'm in different houses and the weather here is colder than new orlean's weather ever gets. maybe it's getting better. there are kitties eating my computer corners. people keep walking around the house talking to themselves. it's weird; maybe i need to start doing it. i'll be right back....

there's a movie on tele about this electric chair that makes you tell the truth. it was made in 1934 and they keep using the word 'nitwit.' i bought my last two xmas presents for people yesterday: a talking heads box set for chinese auction, and special edition dvd set of elvis: aloha from hawaii. the elvis dvd is really just a present to myself, it's just that somebody else gets to open it for me...

if anyone reading this ever reads children's literature, you should go buy kate dicamillo's 'the tale of despereaux,' because it is absolutely amazing. in fact, maybe i'll go read some now.
