Thought I'd be the first to leave a comment. Whee! I think this is a first for me.

I was kind of confused at first when the system said I had three messages and didn't recognize the thumbnailed profile picture. Who is this non-stalker? He's not in my groups! Combined with the recent site redesign, I was wondering what was going on, and it took me a little bit to realize it was you. I'll know you're a stalker, however, if you start showing up in the Atariage.com forums as well.

Anyway, welcome aboard. Glad you found out the place isn't a dank dungeon (well, parts of SG are, but hey). It's enjoyable, but you'll undoubtedly have a few walking-on-eggshells moments as you get used to stuff. There's always someone willing to take umbrage at the slightest of comments, so don't mind the loudmouths. There are enough (frighteningly) intelligent posters that make up for them. This place is an excellent source for logic ideas (both good and bad). I read/post primarily in groups, but the current events and lifestyle boards are quite readable. And I like the "Cats in ur stuff" thread in Silliness.

So far you're off to a good start; you've got a profile pic and have started a journal, so you've cleared the primary hurdles most new comers face (journal comments like this are how most SG members communicate, and the lack of a journal is a major faux pas). Your profile's also much more developed than mine-- SG did a redesign a few months ago that trashed a lot of long-time members' long-standing profiles (mine included) and many of us have just not bothered to repair them.

Oh. You should be glad there's nary a comment about you in my journal. I tend to write journal entries as a catharsis, rather than as a celebration. It makes me sound really emo when that's the only way someone gets to know me, but hey.
