It's an epidemic, I wish to say things will change but who are we kidding.

Cold harsh truth........the saddest part is most people can't check their egos at the door (not matter which door we are talking about)!
ricketycricket:
i'm in total agreement... i've reached a point where i only deal with people when i absolutely have to... and when people fly off the handle i just get more and more calm and keep talking logically at said idiot... although i find that the dumbest of the dumb only seem to get more hysterical and belligerent when i use this tactic... there's no helping some people, i guess...

Aaaaaa-men sista aaaa-men.
mtbiker1:
I totally agree. We have become a society when people are not accountable for your own actions. If someone does called into question. There is always a reason for there actions, and excuse of why they did it, or a counter claim of why they were called out. It's so sad. I really think the world is doomed in the future.
vigil_:
Thank you! This needs to be said.

On that point, I know someone that blames EVERYTHING on OCD. She doesn't have OCD! It's just her way of controlling the situation and it gives her an excuse to be defensive every time someone calls her on somethingmad

After I became trained in logic, I started applying what I had learned to everyday situations. And now all I know how to do is speak rationally and logically. It works wonders! smile Also, studying philosophy helps too.
jonnytrrrash7:
i think i've been irrational way more times than i care to admit, but i'm working on it.
pawko4b:
I am going to have to agree. Sounds quite logical.
fire:
Happy early birthday and I completely agree with what you are saying!
fatkidlovescake:
i think it has a lot to do with maturity and similarly a sense of knowing what battles to fight. otherwise, you just kind of run on basic self preservation instincts and treat everything as a threat.
auriga:
Maybe it's the human condition. Every person is guilty of this at some point or other in their life.
Be it an involuntary defense mechanism or inability to face defeat/wrongdoing, we all err.

Seriously though, it's because humans are big dumb animals.
fatkidlovescake:
wow that guy is awesome, i want to go to one of his lectures, or have him teach a class so i can take it
lyxzen:
oh man, yeah, as a former bosslady myself, i have no sympathy for lateness. new hires would ask what kind of grace period there was for tardies, &id tell them, "the grace period is the five minutes before your shift is scheduled to start, so id try to show up somewhere in there."

what it comes down to is your reliability. shit happens, absolutely, but theres almost always a couple of chances given to allow for those sorts of issues!

people just dont want to take responsibility for mistakes, even honest ones!
truebrew:
Amen!
foust:
honestly i have just had to accept that unfortunately most of the people surrounding me in life are seriously just fucking stupid....reason number one why i have only been able to snatch up a few awesome people over the past couple years ...bleh
jermhawk:
Please explain this to my boss!
warning:
I think someone should do a nationwide seminar on logical rational disagreements....

Sadly I don't think it would garner many attendants.
chevvy:
I would attend.

Oh you POOR, Crazed individual! I weep for the fact that you choose not to let the FACTS stand in the way of the TRUTH! You and those like you are DOOMED... doomed to be pariahs ... You WOULD actually choose to be a pariah ! Good for YOU! We are a rare breed, but we are also the CREATORS and the ACHIEVERS! The world today DESPERATELY NEEDS those with open and creative minds....
