This is probably my last post here.
(I will never, ever have a "blog". Foul excuse for a word.)

I based my entire interaction here on the way the site was.

I can't find anything.
I can't easily see if my friends have updated or not.
I can't read the labels easily because they're in stupid fonts.
Everything takes a lot longer because the one-click ways of doing things have been replaced with four- or five-click ways.
Also, there are many fewer links per page (e.g. the list of recently active threads), which slows things down again.
The adding of the most recent comment to the listing of the thread: I can see why, but context is vital and this change slows things down.

I can't believe how lame this is.

The way I feel now, I won't be renewing.
And, you know, I dislike the interface so much I won't be logging in enough to get used to it.

Yeah, I hate the new layout too. I wanted to quit... Argh. I was asked to stay. I guess that's why I just made it easy for myself with the [ member= ??? ] tag in the front page. That at least somewhat mimics what was good about the old site. Anyway. I guess that's life. Can't expect something to stay great forever. I've used the old site countless times in classes as an example of good design. I coasted through my capstone (college final project) course because of how good the old site was. Now, it's just this.... which I guess accurately depicts how the US development works: move from the sleek one-click urban environment to the sick suburban sprawl. SG 4.0 is the suburbs of the internet. Okay. End rant.

Yeah, I always just go for 3000 b.c. because that's the start of human history. We can definitely prove events at that point because there are meager historical records. smile

The game went well-ish. We didn't get into any danger until the end of the session, then it was like, "Ok, you use the portal and I have to tell you, when you get through, it's a fight. See you all next week!" Yeah my gm is a cruel bastard at times. robot
