well, another month has passed and my guilt leads me to a new post. i swear i used to post more once upon a time.
i went back to detroit last weekend for one of my best friend's weddings. spent time with most of my favorite people...lots of eating and dancing and baseball! i got a little nostalgic for the good old days, but i realize i'm doing the right thing by living in NYC. maybe i don't have the big fish thing going for me anymore, but i feel like i'm learning more about who i am and how strong my convictions are. i try not to get too serious here, because who wants to read about someone they barely know getting all melancholy? then again, everybody seems to love a trainwreck...right?
i made the trip home from detroit to brooklyn in a blazing 8hrs and 10mins! i stopped once for gas & coffee and averaged 71 mph for the trip (according to my car's trip computer). surprisingly, i also averaged 31 mpg in my V6 Saturn Aura, which is better than expected. i guess the US automakers really are working on fuel efficiency after all!
i'm trying to plan a NYE vacation. does anyone have any suggestions other than toronto or chicago? vegas seems like it would be a little too cliche and i'm not going to disney, so where do i go? california seems like the place i ought to be (ha!), but where? san fran, LA or san diego? maybe seattle? help?!?! i need to drag some friends with me too, so i need to entice them with scads of fun stuff to do!
BTW...i love right now! baseball playoffs...new seasons of dexter, pushing daisies, californication, entourage, mad men and true blood...fall weather...football...work slowing down...no more weddings...apple orchards...election talk...etc, etc.
i'm hungry.

no, I found those on the floor. I did Wonder Wheel and Spook-O-Rama. Did you know there is a guy in there who jumps on your cart as you're riding out of the joint, and taps you on the shoulder? The Shoulder Tapper! Brilliant.

In LA, there is the Museum of Jurassic Technology, which everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime.
