ON THE CHAT FRONT-
About 4 years back I was chatting to this girl I knew. She was telling me how she had met this very strange guy on chat and become friends with him. She said he had a very sad story and she had even had him chat a bit with a friend who was a therapist.
Terry had been working on the docks but his dream as a child had been to be the world champion of boxing. He was always saying how his brother should have looked out for him, how he could have been a contender, instead of a bum, which is what he was.
At this point I was crying laughing.
She went on to tell me the life story of marlin brandos character in on the water front and how she would tell him hes not bum, how his brother was awful, suggested he should think of going back to school. Her friend had even given him counsil.
So this put me in a quandry, should I keep up the ruse, out of respect for the liar, who clearly was an artist, or should I tell this nice girl the guy was messing with her. Well I told her, and she yelled at the guy even though you could tell she thought is was funny. I was a bit shocked she never saw the movie but shes australian so I guess it wouldnt be quite so common.
She never heard from that guy again as he disappeared into the netherworld of chat fakes. I think part of her is pissed at me I told her. I think I would be too. She had Marlon, at least kinda.
