It's no secret to my circles of friends that I have a huge obsession and detailed fascination with the world of eyes. They top my list of fav body parts, especially on you women.
To round out the top 6...
1) Eyes
2) Legs
3) Ears (especially when partially peeking out of hair...uuuuhhh **swooooon**)
4) Nose
5) Smile
6) Hair
Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate a great pair of boobs and a nice ass; they're just not what I look to most when determining outward attractiveness. But I digress. Back to the eyes.
The thing is, there is just SOOOO much to appreciate about eyes.
Colour - Richness, vibrancy, two different coloured eyes (heterochromia), twinges of different colours within the iris (sectoral heterochromia)...
Iris - The peaks, valleys and uber-unique designs of the fractal-like edges of both layers of the iris (the stroma and the epithelium)
Shape - Of the eyeballs themselves and of the eyelids
Size - Of the eyeball, iris and sclera (whites of the eyes)
I could just stare into a beautiful pair of eyes for literally hours examining and being totally taken aback by the beauty of the human eye.
(Note: I used Kate Micucci for the eyeball size reference because I couldn't find a proper image w/o finding 90% porn in the search results when using the words "large" or "big"...fucking internet).
These are just a few examples of what I mean. But here is where the plot thickens for me as far as the new development I eluded to.
I woke up the other night and the TV was still on the last channel I was watching the Olympics on, but NCIS: Los Angeles was on (haven't watched it, probably won't, blah blah...anyway). I was watching it while I laid there and one of the girls in the show looked a li'l off to me visually. I couldn't place it at 1st, but then it hit me like a ton of bricks. Her eyes. One of her eyes looked like it was a bit darker. I kept trying to catch a good glance at it, but I never could. So I just wrote myself a note to remind myself to look her up and figure out if it was her, a part of the story in the episode or whatever.
I'm rambling now so lemme cut a bit of this story out and just skip ahead **zzzwuhzzwhzzzzwhizzzzzz**
STOP!!!
OK, here we are. Ready for it?
BAM!!!
This, ladies and gents, is Daniela Ruah. She has what's known as Nevus of Ota. It's essentially a disorder where melanin (what gives skin it's pigment) is trapped in the eye, thus colouring the iris and the sclera. The thing that's beautiful about it is that it's ultra unique and gives the affected eye a really cool look, at least in my opinion. The thing that sucks about it is that it increases the risk of glaucoma :-( Bummer.
Before seeing her last week, I had never heard or seen anything like it. But now I'm completely entranced by it and really curious about what other eye disorders, mutations and what not I haven't heard of.
