Yay for quitting and making it a year!!!! Congratulations, love! I quit when I was 24... but sometimes I slip-up... like when I am drinking with friends... and sometimes when I get stressed out. But I could never go back to the constant habit. It is just not a part of who I am anymore. Thank heavens! I are so proud of you!
I quit too! Best decision I ever made. My voice went back to what it was when I was an opera studio major. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done.
CONGRATS! Honey, my dad had to give up smoking two packs a day and forty five years of smoking while unable to talk because he had just had surgery for throat cancer. Lung cancer came a few years later. Then, a few years after surviving all that, he got a different kind of throat cancer--which eventually killed him. I do not preach at people not to smoke because it is a personal choice, but I have seen the other side of what happens. You have made such a difficult and positive choice. I am so proud of you!
