sorry for you loss even though you didn't know her in your later years she still had a significant place in your childhood, and I"m sure she'll be missed.
As for drugs, just this past summer I had a little drug binge myself, and really after that experience there is no better feeling then feeling sober, even though sometimes it feels the easy way out would be to just take this or that but really you just have to remember the way you feel after the inevitable low, no high is worth feeling the way you feel after. Hang in there hun.

Some people may brag about doing them, but they are not worth it. Happiness is the best drug ever, and the more your sad, the happier you will be when you are finally happy. Only you can make yourself happy. So just smile....
