Behold! Another test to see if my blog posts are doubling up. And speaking of doubles, Two Face was pretty awesome in the Dark Knight. Which leads to a brilliant segue...

THE DARK KNIGHT WAS AWESOME

...but let's face it; you already know that.

What strikes me is just how much that film has pulled in. It's jarring, to be honest. I mean, it's like a bazillion dollars? Over three days? From a comic book? Really??

I don't know what it is about the idea of comic book movies becoming monster blockbusters...let's face it. For everyone of this generation, this is gonna be old hat, and they won't even understand the notion of comics once having been dreadfully marginalized as a medium...

But they were, once. And I hope the day comes where I can talk in a classroom and say stuff like,

"A long time ago, comics were marginalized and creators were taken advantage of. Their creations went on to garner fame and fortune; wealth for those who didn't need it and fame for those who hadn't earned it. Yes, the creations outstripped their creators, and in most instances, lived beyond them...achieving success beyond their wildest imaginings.

"But now the entire world has changed. Creators have ownership over their works and their derivations, and all comic creators are happy and gleeful. In fact, you can usually tell when you're talking with a comic artist; their eyes twinkle with joy and imagination."

Maybe one day. Hopefully soon.
