no need to thank me!
glad to hear you enjoyed the show...
we went to the last two, but i decided to skip this years because the club they perform at over this way has really poor visibility.
and hell yeah to that Grindhouse trailer,
i'm so looking forward to seeing that
There's nothing "Big Brother" about it. There are a very specific terms you agree to when you get your membership to this site. Promoting rival sites is certainly one of them, but there are several others as well. When people violate those terms they have certain privledges taken away (mainly, having a public profile).
Secondly, it's a business. And in business you make enemies. It's almost impossible not to. Enemies speak out against you and twist information to their uses to make it seem damning. Sometimes they actually see things that way. Nothing can be done about that except to ignore it or take further legal action.
Finally, if someone has never seen the site (or anything, really) they cannot actually have a dicsussion, debate, or agrument about it. Period.
Glad you got to go to the show. One of these days I'll make it out. It sounds great.
I have to make a couple notes about your Apple that you left in my journal:
* I'm not sure Apple necessarily markets itself as the "computer for artists" so much as I've seen other artists repeatedly, and loudly, making that claim.
* Apple has a whole section dedicated to its corporate environmental policy, including how, with a purchase of any of their computers, you can recycle your old one regardless of manufacturer. Or, last year, how they implemented an iPod recycling program which will get you a discount for upgrading to a new iPod that you probably wanted anyway.
I should note, I became a Mac user in 2004. Best computer decision I ever made. (Then again, I'm not an artist, but an Internet software developer, so I still work with Windows and Unix-type machines.)
As for Nike... well, I don't buy Nike gear.
That said, the SG show sounded awesome. I missed it while it was in town here in SF a couple weeks back. Just so damn busy. I'm spending most of October on the road. I think this week is the only week I'm not due outside the office, but I won't see this office much until November. Ugh.
As for the chick raising objections, screw her. This site, regardless of how people get here, is about community. The hot SGs may be what reels people in, but what keeps many of us here, are the folks we've met and chat and converse with. If she doesn't get it, she's being deliberately dense -- and, really, irrelevant. Do you really care what she thinks? She can just, you know, not participate. It's not like it's government policy to have an SG account.
Seriously, you West Coast kids have all the fun. No car + not having every weekend off + me living over an hour from Boston = me almost never getting to go to SG events or meeting members.
BTW, I can assume you know what a "queef" is, right? Well, a "queeflick" is...well, you can put 2 and 2 together, right?
I find it humourous that the look on your face when meeting your favourite SGs is akin to the look on your fans faces when meeting you.... ^^
The neverending circle of fandom, perhaps?
damn yo... i really need to get to kno more people on this site :p ... then i coulda atleast met ya and chilled (and not been alone at the show :p)
