i did send you that stuff, in february, i believe?? i'll have to talk to b. since he was the one who actually mailed it, but i think he said it'd take 4-6 weeks?? again, i could be wrong.

b. and i were just talking last night about my desire to become an archaelogist. i've been devouring books about vikings lately, and don't want to read anything else, so he bought me a book with the stories of the aesir in it. i'd really like to find english translations of the viking sagas, but i know they'll be hard to find and am thinking i might have to put that off until my swedish is better....

you know- i tried to look up 'vastad' in a few nordic dictionaries and came up with squat. the word appeared, but in foreign websites i couldn't read.

i had noticed that my viking books used mostly what i guessed to be icelandic (since i can usually pick out danish, norwegian, and swedish from each other), and that perplexed me until b. told me that one of his swedish friends, who is teaching himself icelandic, said that icelandic has not really changed much at all. i still want to learn swedish, but i think icelandic will have to be next.
b. and i really want to go to iceland someday. the pictures we've seen are just breathtaking, and pictures can never quite do justice....
