*grin* Man, I'm such a newbie. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to answer a question like that here, underneath your comment, or back in your Journal, as a comment to your most recent post...
*wry grin* I guess I'd better do both on this occasion, and maybe you (or someone else) will put me right on the matter!
Uh, anyway, I write pretty much whatever they pay me for -- over 80 books in the last fourteen years, ranging from dodgy direct mail pamphlets (like "the complete guide to a good abdomen", "baking soda treasury" and "millionaires' secrets") through to joke books (how to pull a bird/bloke in 7 different languages, the complete book of insults), computer manuals, role-playing games, vampire novels, and non-fiction books on esoteric subjects from Symbolism to The Kabbalah.
It's fun, I love writing, and I learn a lot from it, but the pay really sucks, the work is isolating, and over the years I've had to sacrifice a lot of things in order to keep at it.
Oh shit I hope your mate isn't right. For both my birthday and new year I tried to avoid celebrating it and stayed at home.
Terry's Chocolate Oranges are a gift from god. (where's a dribbling smiley when you need it!)
Wow! If i could write well i'd love to be a writer... i know that sounds stupid, but i love researching things..... finding out new stuff. I'm just rubbish at writing!
A Visual Merchandiser does a lot of things, from planning the lay out of the store, to dressing the windows, we also put up all of the posters in store, which we call decor, and dress all the manaquins.... we decide which clothes go where, making sure all the colours go, and it looks good and is easy to shop. All the Visual aspects of the shop! I really enjoy it, its mad at the moment coz we're getting ready for spring and have the sales on.
So are u a professional writer??
Wot sort of stuff do u write?
