So, I'm finally again amongst the ranks of the living. 
That... whatever it was... was nasty! 
I'm at home now, awaiting delivery of a brand spanking new dishwasher! Our old one was here when we bought the house 16 years ago, and it's been slowly deteriorating in the job it does. No amount of cleaning and rehabilitation seems to improve it, so we decided the time had finally come to replace it. This should be exciting! Thank GOD we went the extra $$ to get it installed. Plumbing and I are not the best of friends....
In other news, five of my prints are going to be auctioned off soon to benefit the Comparitive Orthopedic Center at the University of Missouri. The director, Jimi Cook, is one of our orthopods and a great guy (and a hell of a surgeon. If I ever need my knees done, I want HIM to do it, even if he is a DVM - I'm an animal!). The total cost for me is the prints, matting and framing -- call it $150 total, and it will hopefully bring in at least that much per print. We'll see. At the very least, it should get my name in front of some of the monied folks around here, which can't hurt!
I'm looking forward to shooting with Justicia soon. As you may know, she's a professional yoga instructor, and needs some shots for her web site and marketing. I'm thrilled that she wants me to do them! She and her S.O. are such cool people -- I love hanging around with them!
I've fallen off the wagon with my morning workouts, what with being sick and all. I really need to get back there! I've really been happy with the progress I've seen, and I don't want to lose that. I worked too damn hard to get there!
I also recently arranged the Hogwarts' March (played before and after the 3rd challenge in the HP & The Goblet of Fire movie) for our brass group. Hopefully we'll get to read it on Thursday. It's a fun piece. I found a piano score on-line for about $5, so I worked from that. There's a whole additional strain that you never hear in the movie. It's really odd, too. Unlike the traditional "trio" of a march it changes key UP a whole step (from F to G) rather than down a whole step (i.e., to Eb). It's an odd melody, too. I think technically it's in G Mixolydian as opposed to G Major. It's a real "Land of Hope and Glory" type melody, too -- very different from the jaunty earlier strains. I'm sure you all care. (Well, I know at least DMac will appreciate it
)
