sometimes we get too caught up in life, or whatever, and we forget how important our friends really are. sometimes we even take them for granted (today i was reminded of how close i came to doing that a few years back).
the truth is, they're there for you when nobody else is; they'll put up with the worst in you; and they'll always see the best in you even when you don't. and you do the same for them. if that isn't love, i don't know what is.
my real friends know who they are (the quality more than makes up for any lack of quantity). i try to return to them the joy that they continually give me. and i intend to never take any true friend--present or future--for granted.
coincidentally, i ran across this quote today:
"Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together."
--Woodrow Wilson
