It's a tradition that's fostered from childhood, but it seems I wasn't raised well. I think it should be a celebration for the parents first of all, because the whole upbringing and provision lies with them. Being a parent is a Herculean task. Afterwards, when you don't live with them anymore, I guess it's a good reason to call or visit them once again. After 30 I guess it just turns into numbers that make you think about how much has been passed and how much you have left to go.

@TRSHD What do I know? I generally don't react well to my own birthdays. I don't have any elderly relatives. I participate in such celebrations out of inertia, I realize that they mean more to others than I can understand. Again, personally, I have never felt any special feelings about another year passing. I use it on social media because people like it, people like to give warmth and kind words...just like me....but not over excited
