If you didn't want him to know you would have said something else
Instead you said what you felt, and only now regret it because it is not playing out the way you had hoped
Don't alter what you meant, rather define a time frame for his reaction
and if it does not come to pass within that time frame, then don't be afraid to leave it behind and move forward
