So for reasons of logistics and stupidity I didn't remove my airconditioners from two windows in my apartment this past Fall. Now it's minus 33 with windchill factor. It's freaking cold. When a plant freezes NEAR a window, it's probably a sign that you have insulation issues. *shiver*
I've been slowly trying to deal with the problem. First I taped over the top of the doublehung windows. Then I used the cardboard box from surlyclown's birthday digital camera and taped down the vents on the a/cs. Then I taped and sealed garbage bags over the whole thing. It's still chilly, but it's LESS chilly.
This time next year when I breathe in my nose won't freeze shut 'cuz I'll be in sunny LA. Thank god.
In other news, I stopped by the library on my way home from work today and picked up The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror. It appears to be the Fourth annual from 1991. I'm looking forward to curling up with it. I love a good short story.
