as xmas nears closer, i begin to look upon those who bustle into my work full of holiday spirit both maddeningly and curiously. working retail pretty much kills any holiday cheer i might have been able to muster...thank god for liquor.
my grandpa died last night, and i haven't felt sad yet... i really wonder if i will at all. i loved him, but he was old and becoming increasingly infirm, and i don't think if he was entirely coherent he would have wanted to live that way. i'm afraid i'm going to break down on sat when my mom gives the eulogy, to see her cry and know she hurts. empathy is a weird emotion when it happens with a parent, at least it always is with me.
i currently have the plague, and don't get a day off until christmas. something to look forward to though- it's the only day of the year i'm guaranteed not to get a sick call. halle-fucking-lujah. if i continue on like i have been, i won't have a voice left by tommorow, and grunting and pointing will have to suffice for good customer service.
