I used to have a girlfriend who used spermicide a lot and I do not remember what kind it was, but it takes oral sex right out of the equation, use very thing condoms with lube, now yeasty surprises
What b/c pills did you switch from..and too? Did your OB say to back up with different methods for that long?
Personally.. I would just do the condom/lube for two months simply because with my experince spermicde has been messy and hetic. Get thin/shear condoms (of course if he's larger in size sometimes that's not an option)!
I found spermicide gel/foams to be MUCH more irritating to my vag than condoms, even condoms with spermicide on them. The strips are way less messy though. Good luck with finding something that works! You can buy it online through walgreens for sure.
I used the strips and they worked just fine.
They aren't messy at all and I never got an infection.
I like them wayyy better than condoms.
We were still careful while using the strips though, if ya know what I mean.
