Partying is alright most of the time, but like you, I find myself sleeping fourteen hours a day during my off days and it's not really that awesome, considering the fact that other people are out there wanting to do shit, but I am too lethargic or lazy to want to do anything.
PROBIOTICS! Take lots and lots of them! I work outside in the elements, in a public park and there are bus loads of children that get dumped off every single day but I swear those GOOD microbes ward away the bad ones! Trader Joes even has them cheap, although I am not sure if they (TJs) are all that prevalent in SF. Either way get some in ya honey! I have not been since in over a year!
Yeah dude, drinking is poo, and makes you look old, and makes everyone suck at whatever they think they're good at(fighting,fucking,kissing,singing). I drink like once every 3 or 4 months, and typically regret it. I drank after the Zombie Prom for the first time since January, and that was fine. The bartender was a Danzig fan, so she hooked me up with top shelf tequlia. After that I continued drinking for a few days, and it completely fucked up my program. I drank for a few more days because Plan 9 didn't have a show booked for 3 weeks after prom, and that following week we did a tv appearance... Of course I then regretted my mini-binge that made me sleep 11 hours a day, and generally suck. The show came out good, but I just don't like anything breaking me down.
I had a nightmare lastnight (thanks to our comments) that I drank tequila, and smoked 5 cigarettes... and I was all weak at the next show. I was so sad and disappointed in the dream.
I've never tried drinking before we go onstage. Beer is cold, and that stiffens the vocal cords, and shots dehydrate you, so I wait to drink until after we play, as a sort of victory libation. I also haven't tried because I would never do anything that would compromise the quality of our show, or make people feel like they wasted their money.
