well... it's my last day in Alaska.

since my last update, I have finished work and have been spending most of my time drinking and watching movies.

right now I'm watching a strange movie about Japanese schoolgirl-zombies... it's the first 5 minutes and 3 people have died already. God I've seen too many movies.

I got to hang out with an old bandmate of mine: Chris. I havent' seen him for 4 years, so that was awesome. He's got a new band now called Bludfist. It's thrash metal, but he's gotten really good. I remember teaching him a bunch of basics on the guitar and now he's better than me!

Other than that I've been driving around the city, taking one last look at this place before I get the fuck out. As much as I hate this place I'm going to miss it. I had a lot of fun times here, but the people I had all the fun with have long since left this town. So now I walk around and see the ghosts of our adventures, and I can't help but feel sad. I miss my best friend Jake. We grew up together, formed our first band, and went through more shit than I care to remember. Now he's off in Australia, playing in a great band and having the time of his life. I don't even know if he has the desire to see me. The last time I saw him I told him I was going to miss him terribly. He said "you'll get over it," and walked off. He was always cooler than me. He had done more, seen more, and played more than I had. I couldn't help but look up to him. Now being back here just feels like a slow poison... and hearing how well he's doing without me makes me feel like shit.

Fuck it.
There's nothing I can do about it.
Might as well just become another casualty.
