I don't remember if it was a US one I had used or a swedish or what it was. But I had used one machete that was really heavy, sturdy and sharp.
There's a US one available form this site and a company that claims to make things simaler to US issue but better. I might give it a shot instead of the actual US issue.
Still a damn nice, carbon steel machete for $25, even if I have to give it a touch up now and then,

Isn't poaching another way of cooking fish besides sometimes when I surfcast late at night on the sound during rainstorms it is kind of hard to get a good measurement on a keeper striper , and the crabs allways have eaten the carcass long before daylight , it's a good thing I can filet a fish in the dark
