It's normal to have real life and Internet friends. As far as meeting...never say never. I don't think it's impossible to meet online friends. Usually it's only normally a problem of time and expense of travel.

I'm definietly not taking the fact that you are leaving personally offensive to me. I just know what it's like to go through what you are going through. I was ready to leave the Internet altogether and use it only as a means to shop or search for crap or whatever else there is to do online. Is there anything else besides meeting people? Oh yeah play games! Haha. Anyway, I decided that I don't need the 100 or so friends that I had on messenge, that I didn't need chat, etc. I simply decided to simplify my online life by blocking a lot of people and pretty much cutting them out of my life and sticking to a handful of people that really mattered to me. Since I made those decisions I have spent a lot less time online and I'm a happier person. The one other positive side is that it is so easy to turn everyone off. When you need a break all you need to do is hit that power button.

I've struggled with the same thing, and as much as I hate the thought, I hope can get the strength to end my membership or learn to spend less time here. I do like the fact that it has had me being more social, making friends here that I get to hang with in real life.
