Help, I'm in Hell.

I'm at work and typing this, on a site that I shouldn't be on (on my MacBook Pro which I shouldn't have here), with a girl being driven to a migraine by lack of caffeine, and the wireless network keeps dropping out so iTunes can't play, looking through the classifieds only acting like I'm looking at auctions and legal notices because I truly can't stand this place anymore.

I had applied for a graphic design job at the local newspaper and hadn't heard anything. Since I couldn't call in an inquiry I emailed one. The potential employer thanked me for the follow up and said he had just freed up the position and was looking at in-house resums and looking to get it squared away in the current week... that was last week. And why put a freakin' ad in the newspaper if we had no chance in hell of even being interviewed?! In my email I asked if there was a reason I've never been interviewed (I've sent in resum and samples at least three times) and if so please let me know and I'd stop wasting their time. Again, he only said he had just freed up the position and was looking at in-house resums and looking to get it squared away in the current week. And that was still last week.

I'm supposed to do some photography for my cousin's fianc, who needs promotional material now that she has her realty license. I'd like to convince her to do more than head shots but I'm sure he wouldn't agree; I'm sure he'll be chaperoning. She has just lost some weight and feeling really good about herself so otherwise there was a good chance. Since I'm not getting paid for the former I could seek the latter as payment.

And so it goes.

Still in Hell.

Go see Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End. It's good. I went out and bought a Capt. Jack Sparrow figure, which stands next to Dr. Evil and the goddess Dawn (Joseph Michael Linsner's) on my desk.

My heroes.

Still in Hell.

Goddamn... I'm a learned man. Can't I have a job that supports that?
Still open to any openings you know of.

Looking for work can be a frustrating ,even humiliating, experience.

One prospective employer began his interview by asking: "What's it like to graduate from the worst law school in the state?" Nothing like an insult to break the ice.

Another guy ended the interview by saying:"If we offer you the job, we won't pay you very much. You're not really worth anything."

These were typical interviews. I finally gave up on being a lawyer. I'm not really cut out for practicing law anyway.

But if graphic design, etc. is the kind of work you really want to do, keep looking. Something's liable to turn up

sorry to hear the job thing isn't going so well... I know how it goes. I still recommend watching Galactica... it improved my life vastly, sad as that sounds. anyway good luck finding another job.
