good luck with the school aps. you've got plenty of time to start planning as it is too late to apply for the fall 05 term. probably need at least 3 months to pound the books prior to the MCAT. financial aid is always out there (i'm already 30g's in the hole for b-skool) but you'll need somewhere in the neighborhood of 100k to start for the 3 years of med school. an alternative that a friend of mine has undertaken is to go overseas (i think he went to the dutch antilles) for med school where its not so competitive and not nearly as expensive as it is here.
on the surf front, there's a new SW swell rolling in today and a possible NWer tomorrow to make for a fun combo. i'll be headed to manhattan at the crack of dawn tomorrow prior to going to james' wedding.
That is a FANTASTIC story. You karmically took that beating so that the woman at the bar didn't have to take worse. Because had you not taken her home, surely the two predators would have gotten her. She'll never know it, but she owes you one.
Re: travelling outside one's comfort zone, I'm the same way. I don't venture east of the 405 unless it's mandatory!
Of course, several times in an average week it turns out that way, but still.
I love Mt. Washington, actually. Two of my best pals live up there (more Eagle Rock really, but close enough). Their house is on Camorilla up off of Cazador and their view of downtown and Dodger Stadium is amazing (a great place for us to watch fireworks whenever they're on tap).
As far as work, etc: I'm always open to good ideas. Let me know what's happening. Cheers!
Ok, so i just wanted to let you know that the site that you posted in Sophie's journal was actually something that circulated aruond the area that i live/work in. In fact, I work at an art store and we were like huge on distributing those post cards. I made one, but it's a secret.... I just wonder how many people that picked those up are the same folks that came into my shop....
VERY studly to make such a move. Well done, man.
