shellymc:
It's a hard film to sit through...
but its so well acted and very powerful.
But there is a truly disturbing scene in it.
Another great film with the same type of theme is "The Believer" with Ryan Gosling....
check that one out as well.
shellymc:
I once thought of becoming a film historian...but was told that i would have to go back to college to study journalism surreal
"American history x" is very disturbing, but such a good film... i recommend it for at least one viewing!
If D and I cannot make ends meet to make it to seattle later in the year, then i would definitely think about the Palm springs film fest!
shellymc:
Ask Charlene if she's seen "The Believer" also....
no, not keeping me up.
But i'll try and go to bed soon.
I have some errands to run before work tom.morning.
Plus i have to get a vcr from my moms tomm. as i have to tape some films for Morgan....
i told her i'd tape "The Wicker Man" and "Tank girl" for her. biggrin
I'd tape some more films for you...but i recall you telling me you didn't like having to many things/collectibles in your home wink
shellymc:
why would you send it back to me?
i have it on vhs already! biggrin
That copy is yours....
but if you ever want a film in my collection, just let me know!
when i lived in n.y.c. i was a minimalist as well.....
then i married D surreal
and clutter and mayhem ensued!
way too many things inhabit our apt. now.
I'm off to bed soon....
have a good night! kiss
shellymc:
Two L's indeed!
Michelle....
the girl that broke my heart, had one L...
i have two biggrin
Have a good night!
enjoy your hitchcock film tom nite!
vkeithv:
i saw that while i was at work today....i thought i was going to fall out of my chair laughing. that's some funny shit! i mean, of all places to go, he picked indy. wow. but he's better than mike vandersuck and a lot less whiney.
m69:
Perhaps at the bastardized version in the USA they sell chips.

Say, Tim Hortons is going public soon. I'm gonna buy some of that stock.
hyde:
You are so right...

Hurm, people being an ass to me is something I don't like.

I also really really hate it when someone double parks on a one lane side street, next to an empty space, leaving someone in the passenger seat who can't drive and ultimately holding up traffic. REALLY pisses me off.
brooklynbabe:
getting up after only a few hours of sleep
going to the dentist
driving in manhattan
going to college
testykitten:
heheh! we can party with caligula and the marquis de sade.
jody:
Thanks for the nice comment. smile
I hate olives. I know someone else already said that, but it reminded me of how much I hate them.
I don't like cold, windy days or getting up early.
I don't like getting random meat (usually bacon) in my food at restaurants. No, I don't want to pick it off.
shellymc:
How was your hitchcock night?
I feel perverted when typing that name...
beckyjane:
Stats? Conquered.
shellymc:
I got a raise today... smile
shellymc:
thanks blush
how are you doing?
shellymc:
She didn't like it that much....or did she just think it was overhyped?
I'm off to a winetasting event/fundraiser tom. night.
Hhhmmmm...... an alcoholic at a wine tasting shindig eeek
Hope i don't make a total ass out of myself biggrin
shellymc:
We shall see....
i'm more of a vodka/whiskey kind of girl.
I do like wine, but it usually makes me drunk and sleepy surreal
so i'm going to keep stuffing my face with the buffet food so i don't get drunk to quick! wink
i can understand what she means about getting spoiled by certain films.
And yes, Vertigo was a good film....but his best? whatever
I think not.
shellymc:
Which Lynch films have you not seen yet that you are looking forward to seeing soon?
I would gladly not sit through Eraserhead ever again.....that was too fucked up, even for me eeek
I got a kick out of "wild at heart" though...
"Mulholland drive" just confused me, even after seeing it a second time.
and "Fire walk with me...." was to bleak and creepy ( the ending depressed the hell out of me)
Like i said before, you definitely have to see "The elephant man"
shellymc:
I love those damn praeger burgers!
oohhhh...... forgot how much i love "Blue Velvet" biggrin
i'm going to have to go back and read that five page essay on "Mulholland dr."....
i have questions that must be answered!!
"Lost highway" i enjoyed, but that to went way over my head.
Which i now know Lynch does on purpose, i'm convinced he's all about the mindfuck and viewing his films are just a great little adventure into his dreams/nightmares.
and "The straight story" was okay, but it was such a calm passive film for lynch that at times i mistook it for boring surreal
shellymc:
See....you misquoted me...
i said " i mistook it for boring" wink
so you are getting indian food tonight, and i'm a bit jealous!
Tell Charlene i said hello, i'm going to get off the computer, lie down and do some reading.
I want to fall asleep fairly early tonight so i can actually try and be productive tomm.
I'll write about my winetasting party soon.
Good luck with that haircut biggrin
shellymc:
enjoy the spicy food...
talk soon
lycoris:
If birthdays happened more often, we'd age faster. And that's not good at all.

I don't like winters with no snow. When it's that cold out, it seems pointless to not have any snow on the ground.
m69:
I don't like getting kicked in the nuts.

I do like the Islanders beating Hotlanta though!!

jody:
I really like cucumbers.
jody:
Poor you! Shall I protect you from the evil cucumbers? wink
